Afternoon thoughts: a laundry list

If only WordPress would let me customize for free as it lets you do it for a fee this post would have a much longer title.

“Afternoon thoughts: not as brilliant as the morning ones. More like a laundry list.”

Let’s start.

#1: Reylo. I do ship it. I do. It will end badly, tragically even. But I ship it. I ship Rylo as I shipped Buffy + Spike, Sarah and the Goblin King (Seriously though: “Fear me, love me. Do as I say. And I will be your slave.” How does the logic work in your world?), 16 years old me and That-Guy-I-never-Saw-Again-Who-I-Treated-To-Fish-In-The-Face. I ship all these doomed-from-the-start love stories. I ship them as a giggling bystander because is soo good to see crashing onto each other these people who can’t possibly be together. And I ship them as a participant because is soo good to say “no” when it’s right even if inside you are screaming “I don’t know how long I can resist”.

#2: I miss writing bits and pieces of The Roaming Witch. I still think that it’s full of flaws. I still think that I should heavily edit and re-write almost all the chapters I wrote but I miss the characters and their longings for unattainable things. I realize now it was going to be a book about unrequited desires. But the teenagers I wrote are terrible. Nadia is too self-assured. Her cousin is not charming at all. Peter comes out as creepy.  I can’t relate to adolescents. I could never, even when I was one. I relate quite well to middle-aged women and really old ladies. Maybe I was born an old lady. And old lady with uncured youth longings.

#3: My gosh, I need a cushion for these spiky elbows. It hurts when I place my arms on the desk to type. You exercise to sculpt your bottom and what gets sharpened? Your already bony arms.

#4: I miss having a plan. I miss it but at the moment I’m not able to concoct one. Morning and days slip through a weak grasp and I just try to keep up. Maybe putting down some ideas here will be of help.

Sorry guys for this laundry list of heterogenic (and silly) subjects. I will come to my senses. Have a great weekend and, as always, thank you for your precious time.

  1. Hi, Nina!
Long time no see. I miss The Roaming Witch and your other stories. Need to go and look if you’ve written something after I last were your page (it was in ancient times, I know, but it wasn’t intentional). And do not worry, teenage girls can be very self-assured. 🙂
